The white, iron-free reusable abrasive is considered a top-of-the-range product for extremely hard surfaces. The angular grain is of the highest purity and is particularly suitable for hardened steel and other hard surfaces.
During production in the electric arc furnace, titanium oxide or chromium oxide is added in varying proportions to the bauxite to give a brittle and hard texture for extremely high demands.
White alumina is ideal for use on stainless steel and non-ferrous metals. It is also ideal for blasting applications where ferrous abrasives cannot be used due to the risk of rust and magnetism.
