Blast Nozzles from Boron Carbide

(Boron carbide, chemical formula B4C)

Boron Carbide: Material with a Mohs hardness of 9.3, extremely hard and above all very wear resistant.

Boron carbide is extremely hard and therefore much more wear resistant than silicon carbide, in fact 4 times more wear resistant than tungsten carbide. As the third hardest material after diamond and CBN (cubic boron nitride), boron carbide is best suited to the manufacture of blast nozzles.

The ratio between extremely high wear resistance and moderate price makes boron carbide the most economical material.
